American Pie worldview

I think American Pie is a secular humanist worldview. The reason i think this is mostly because of that one line where it states that the father, son, and holy ghost took the last train to the coast. This is pretty much saying that they are totally gone from the world. Also the thing that i really noticed is how many times they say that the day the music died and they gave a lot of clues pointing to the fact that us as the people were the ones that "killed" the music. I dont know if that totally made sense but it does to me. Pretty much i think its secular humanist because there is no God and humans are in control of like everything. Which is exactly like the definition in my UTT book. Hopefully this explained my reasoning behind my opinion.

How is reality treated in the aforementioned films?

I am comparing the W of Oz with The Chronicles of Narnia. In Oz they treat reality as the best thing there is. I mean, yes of course she does have a good time trying to get to the wizard but in the end there's always that famous line, "there's no place like home..." Where as in Narnia the kids neverrrr seem to want to come home. They find this whole new world and probably would be just fine living there forever. It's pretty much complete opposite for the two movies.

Mammon-Paradise Lost

Mammom is briefly mentioned in Paradise Lost. He is a demon but is the one that is the least fallen of all the angels. It makes him seem like he has a real interest in gold, riches, things like that. It says he leads the demon Hord into the center of hell at one point also. They both then dig and mine for minerals at that same place.

What worldview explains the universe in The Wizard of Oz?

I think the worldview shown in wizard of oz is mostly postmodernism. The entire movie is just a dream and everything seems totally fake and impossible in actual reality. The wizard isnt even reall in the end, hes just some dude talking "like a god." Which i thought was completely retarded. The whole scarecrow and the tinman and lion talking and becoming best friends wiith her is totally unreal. And in the end she just wakes up at her house learning maybe one thing out of the whole story.
